Anambra Police Arrest Two Suspects Over Kidnap, Murder of Female Bank Manager

The Anambra State Police Command has arrested two suspects allegedly involved in the kidnap and subsequent murder of a female bank manager, even after collecting a ransom of fourteen million naira from her family. The arrest is part of the Command’s renewed commitment to pursue criminal cases to a logical conclusion and prevent further crimes across the state.

According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspects — identified as Monday Egbe, aged 32, and Kenneth Nnoga, aged 28 — were apprehended on 28th May 2025 after operatives tracked them to a criminal hideout in a neighbouring state. The arrests followed diligent investigations launched after the heinous incident, which occurred on 13th January 2025.

On that day, the lifeless body of the victim was discovered along Nnobi Road, her eyes tied, sparking outrage and grief. It was revealed that the abductors had collected a ransom of fourteen million naira from her family before killing her.

The suspects are currently undergoing interrogation as police continue efforts to unravel the full modus operandi of the gang and secure the arrest of other members still at large.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD, assured the public of the Command’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property. He reiterated that all criminal cases would be pursued to their logical conclusion to ensure justice for victims and their families.
