In a commendable display of tactical prowess, the Anambra State Police Command recorded another breakthrough in its ongoing efforts to combat criminal activities within the state. Leveraging practical intelligence and tactical operations led by Commissioner of Police Nnaghe Obono Itam, police operatives intercepted a shuttle bus along Portharcourt Road, Fegge, Onitsha, recovering two 50KG bags containing four cartons of one hundred and seventy live cartridges.
The operation, conducted following actionable intelligence, saw police operatives laying an ambush along the mentioned road. Upon sighting the police, the suspected convener fled the scene, while the driver of the shuttle bus was apprehended. The driver is currently undergoing interrogation to provide further insights into the investigation.
Furthermore, on May 23, 2024, police operatives arrested Mr. Kingsley Orji of Okwudo village, Mgbidi, Imo State, along Creek Road, Fegge, and recovered a stolen Lexus RX350 with registration number YAB 912 HR. The vehicle, which was reported to have been snatched at gunpoint by six armed men in Imo State, was successfully recovered, and the suspect confessed to the crime. His cooperation has been instrumental in providing valuable information leading to the apprehension of other gang members involved.
