Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), Awkuzu, under the Anambra State Police Command, have arrested three additional suspects linked to a criminal gang, following actionable intelligence obtained from a detained armed robbery suspect.
The early morning operation, carried out on May 30, 2025, at Agukwu-Nri in Anaocha Local Government Area, led to the arrest of Monday Onoja, Sanusi Muhammed, and Kenneth Nwokpu, all male and aged between 27 and 32 years.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the raid also resulted in the recovery of one automatic pump action gun and a number of items suspected to be stolen, including a white Mercedes Benz C300 4matic with registration number KWC 140, an ash-coloured Lexus 350 with registration number 669 CY, and two exotic smartphones.
SP Ikenga noted that investigations have been expanded to track and apprehend other fleeing members of the gang. “The Command remains committed to disrupting all criminal networks across the State through intelligence-led operations and proactive policing strategies,” he stated.
The Police assured the public of continued efforts to ensure safety and security, urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities through the available emergency channels.
