Anambra Police Arrest 10 In Connection With Death of Alleged Kidnap Victim In Nimo


The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of ten suspects in connection with the ongoing investigation into the death of an alleged kidnap victim, whose lifeless body was discovered near a piggery farm in Nimo on June 23, 2025.

According to a statement issued on Saturday, June 29, by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the suspects were apprehended by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) based in Awkuzu on June 28.

The arrests are part of a broader probe into the circumstances surrounding the suspected abduction and death of the victim, whose identity has not yet been made public.

While the suspects remain in custody and are undergoing interrogation, SP Ikenga disclosed that the police are processing the information obtained and will proceed with the next line of action based on directives from the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu.

“The operatives are ready to proceed to the next line of action after processing the information as directed by the Commissioner of Police,” the statement read.

The police spokesperson assured the public that further developments will be communicated as the investigation progresses.

The Anambra State Police Command reiterated its commitment to ensuring justice and maintaining security across the state.
