In a swift operation, Anambra State Police Detectives, in collaboration with Umuoji Vigilante, have successfully arrested four suspects believed to be responsible for the murder of the President-General of Umuoji town over the weekend. The Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye, commended the joint efforts of the Police in Ogidi and Umuoji Vigilante for their coordinated action leading to the apprehension of the alleged perpetrators.

The arrest was made possible with the recovery of the deceased’s handset and ATM card from the suspects. In their confession, the apprehended individuals disclosed the identities of four other accomplices, who are currently being pursued by the Police. CP Aderemi Adeoye, who rushed back from an official assignment in Ibadan upon receiving the news, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to deploy its Forensic Team to the crime scene and take over the investigation.

The Commissioner of Police mandated the Homicide Team in the State CID to intensify efforts to apprehend the four accomplices still on the run and to unravel the motive behind the heinous crime. The investigation will be comprehensive, seeking to bring all involved parties to justice and shed light on the circumstances surrounding the murder of the town’s President-General.

CP Aderemi Adeoye assured Presidents-General across the state that the safety of community leaders is a top priority for the Police, as they represent their people in governance through their town unions. The commitment to ensuring security and swift justice in such cases remains unwavering.
