— Urges Cooperation and Lawful Conduct from Residents
The Anambra State Police Command has issued a public announcement ahead of the official visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to the state today, Wednesday, May 8, 2025.
According to a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the Command, speaking on behalf of other security agencies, is appealing to residents of the state for increased cooperation and understanding during the presidential visit.
As part of the security and logistical arrangements, there will be a partial adjustment in vehicular movements across certain parts of the state. While specific routes were not disclosed in the statement, motorists and commuters have been advised to plan accordingly and expect temporary traffic diversions.
“The Command also enjoins the good people of Anambra to remain law-abiding and to continue to partner and support the Police and other security agencies in their task of making the State safe for everyone,” SP Ikenga stated.
President Tinubu’s visit is expected to include high-level engagements and interactions with key stakeholders in the state. Security operatives have been deployed strategically to ensure a smooth and hitch-free visit.
The Police Command has urged Ndi Anambra to demonstrate hospitality, civility, and patience throughout the duration of the visit and to promptly report any suspicious activity to the nearest security post.
