The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc MNIPS PhD, has announced plans to revive the Cattle Menace Committee within the Command. This initiative aims to tackle challenges posed by cattle grazing, including crop destruction, accidents, and conflicts between herders and local communities.
The decision was made following a courtesy visit by the Hausa/Fulani Community to the Commissioner’s office. CP Orutugu reassured Ndi Anambra and all residents that under his leadership, the Command would continue to take proactive measures to address security concerns in the state.
He emphasized that reactivating the committee would foster a safer and more harmonious coexistence among the diverse communities in Anambra State.
