The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu, fwc, MNIPS, PhD, has applauded security agencies in the state for their effective coordination and resilience in ensuring the safety of lives and property.
Speaking on Thursday, May 8, 2025, CP Orutugu expressed appreciation to all security operatives and residents for their collective efforts in maintaining peace, particularly during recent high-profile events in the state.
The Police Commissioner cited the peaceful and successful conduct of a stakeholders’ wedding in Ihiala as well as the hosting of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Awka as strong indicators of the improving security situation in Anambra. The visit by the President, he noted, was also attended by top dignitaries, including Deputy Inspector General of Police Ben Nebolisa Okolo, fdc, who represented the Inspector General of Police.
CP Orutugu further commended Ndi Anambra for their continued support and cooperation with security agencies, noting that such collaboration is essential in sustaining peace and security across the state.
“The Police Command believes that prioritizing security coordination and collaboration is a proactive approach to addressing security concerns and promoting a safer, more secure environment for all,” he said.
The Police Commissioner assured residents that the Command remains committed to strengthening inter-agency synergy and implementing proactive strategies to sustain peace and stability in the state.
