The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, CP Ikioye Orutugu fwc MNIPS PhD, has commended officers of the Anambra State Police Command for their professionalism during the recently concluded primary elections of political parties in the state.
Speaking on Sunday, the CP praised the dedication and discipline exhibited by officers deployed for the sensitive national assignment, describing their conduct as commendable. He, however, emphasized that “there is still much to be done” as the state approaches the main election season.
CP Orutugu stressed the importance of maintaining professionalism and neutrality throughout the political process. He urged officers to remain committed to excellence, especially during campaign activities and the forthcoming governorship election.
“The Command remains resolute in its commitment to ensuring a peaceful and secure environment for Ndi Anambra and all political actors. We shall continue to uphold our duty with professionalism and without bias,” he assured.
The Police Commissioner reiterated the force’s apolitical stance and encouraged continued vigilance and collaboration to safeguard public peace across the state.
