ANAMBRA 2021: Peoples Democratic Party Flag-Off E-Registration And CVR Drive In The State


Says PDP Can Succeed As A Family

The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife PhD, has assured that the Peoples Democratic Party remains the solution to the myriads of challenges presently facing the nation, noting that the party is committed in its efforts to make Nigeria’s electoral process more transparent. She urged Ndi Anambra to turn out massively and register with the party as it commenced e-registration in the state. This was contained in a press statement by her Media Special Adviser, Mr Kingsley Ubani.

While speaking at the Oma Event Centre Awka on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, during the launch of the PDP online registration and CVR Drive, Ekwunife commended the party’s NWC for its determination to strengthen the structures of the party at all levels.

Concerning the forthcoming election, the Chairman Senate Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation urged party faithful to work hard to deliver PDP come November 6, adding that she appreciates the growing interest that Ndi Anambra have shown in the party. She appealed to aggrieved members to embrace the spirit of reconciliation and dialogue in the overall interest of the party.

The ranking Senator further noted that the party can achieve victory in the gubernatorial election when they work as a family, expressing optimism that the challenges facing the party would be resolved.

Speaking, Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo state who is the chairman of the party’s e-registration committee described PDP as the best alternative for Nigerians, adding that the party will win Anambra state and going forward, the next Presidential election to be held in 2023.

Recounting his experience during his reelection, Obaseki noted that Nigeria has come to the stage where elections cannot be easily rigged. He advised party leaders to lead from the front and ensure that Nigerians embrace the online registration exercise.

On his part, the Governor of Abia state, HE Okezie Ikpeazu who doubles as the Chairman of Anambra PDP National Campaign Council noted that Nigerians must begin to demonstrate that they are determined to take their destinies in their hands by registering with the party. The Governor who described himself as a product of youths and women mobilization said that the party’s strategy is to win at various wards. He encouraged Ndi Anambra to support and vote for PDP in the upcoming election.

Similarly, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo state encouraged Anambrarians not to be deterred, adding that by the grace of God and hard work that the party will pull through. The Governor assured that he and other leaders of the party will be on ground to give the necessary support ahead of the election.

In his speech, the governorship candidate of the party, Mr. Valentine Ozigbo described the event as historic, adding that the importance is tremendous. He promised to make the party proud if elected, noting that Anambrarians should expect a rocket performance from his administration.

Ozigbo, while promising that he will lead from the front to ensure that the party emerges victorious come November 6, assured the gathering that necessary efforts will be made to ensure the success of the e-registration process in the state.

Delivering the vote of thanks, the PDP Vice Presidential candidate in the last general elections, Mr Peter Obi appreciated the governors and everyone who graced the event for their time and efforts, stressing that the party is determined to win the upcoming election. The former governor charged party faithful to go to their respective wards and work hard to achieve victory for the party.

The highlight of the event was handing over of the e-registration card to His Excellency, Peter Obi and the Governorship Candidate, Valentine Ozigbo by Governor Ikpeazu.
