ANAMBRA 2021: NSCDC Pledges Adequate Security Beef-Up Before During And After The Election

Ahead of Anambra State Gubernatorial Election, the State Commandant of NSCDC Anambra State Command, Commandant Vincent Ogu JP has assured of adequate security beef up before, during and after the election. This was contained in a press statement by the Spokesperson of the command, DSC Okadigbo Edwin.

Ogu stated this when he received in audience Moshood Isah from Yiaga Africa an election monitoring group at the State Command Headquarters Awka today, Tuesday August 2021 as part of the organization’s pre-election assessment mission to the state aimed at assessing pre-election environment with respect to identifying areas to be strengthen in the conduct of the election.

Ogu appreciated the delegation for the visit and pledged to work in synergy with other sister security agencies in having free, fair and credible election in the state while calling on Anambrarians and residents alike to support security agencies through credible intelligence report to avert any form of threat to the conduct of Anambra Gubernatorial election.

The Commandant assured the group of adequate protection of all election observers to enable them carry out their duties effectively.

Speaking earlier, Mrs Cynthia Mbamalu informed the State Commandant that the visit was to seek for security coverage from the Corps as a major stakeholder in the forthcoming election. She intimated the Corps of their mission in promoting credible, peaceful, and transparent election across the state as the organization will be deploying 500 observers to polling units spread across all the 21 Local Government Areas in the State.
