“Commends Prince Tony Okpala For His Contributions To Community Development”
The Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, has described infrastructural development as a catalyst for community and nationwide development, adding that it brings economic and social benefits. She noted that she will through effective implementation of robust legislation continue to attract dividends of democracy to constituents.
Ekwunife, who made this known on Thursday, September 2, 2021, while commissioning the Umueze road, Nimo, Njikoka LGA, constructed by Prince Tony Okpala stressed that the project is a welcome development and will contribute to the socio-economic development of the people of the community. She noted that good roads are very important and boost interconnectivity in rural communities. This was contained in a press statement by Mr Kingsley Ubani, SA Media to Senator Uche Ekwunife.
Ekwunife urged the people of the community to support and vote for the Peoples Democratic Party in the upcoming gubernatorial election, describing the party as the most credible alternative for delivering good governance in Anambra state.
While expressing satisfaction with the quality of the road, the federal lawmaker commended Prince Okpala for the gesture, adding that it is a remarkable feat that should be emulated. The Senator charged her constituents to jealously guard infrastructural projects across the zone. She encouraged private sector participation in community and national development.
Talking on, the ranking Senator appreciated the Nimo community for inviting her to commission the road project, noting that the community is immensely blessed with human capital. Ekwunife eulogized the Traditional Ruler of the community, HRH Igwe Maxi Ike Oliobi and the President General, Agbalanze Ekenenna Okafor for the peace, progress and cooperation that exist in the community.
“I thank God for a special day like this and also the people of Nimo community for inviting me to commission this beautiful road constructed by Prince Tony Okpala. It’s always good to appreciate people who invest in the development of their community and I thank him immensely for remembering his people”, Ekwunife, who holds the prestigious title of Ezinne Nimo concluded.
On his part, Prince Okpala thanked Ekwunife for accepting to commission the road, describing her as a lawmaker par excellence. The business mogul promised to always invest in the development of the community and thanked his beloved wife and the entire community for their prayers and support.
In his remarks, HRH Igwe Maxi Ike Oliobi commended Prince Okpala for his strides towards the growth and development of the community. He expressed gladness that many illustrious sons of the community are taking giant steps towards developing the community.
Speaking further, the traditional ruler appreciated the choice of Ekwunife to commission the project, adding that she is unmatched in terms of legislative engagements. He noted that he was glad to witness the commissioning by Ekwunife, emphasizing that beyond being a strong voice on the floor of the senate, the lawmaker since her days in the green chamber has been attracting dividends of democracy to Nimo as well as other communities.
The monarch further eulogized Ekwunife for being the most accessible lawmaker in Nigeria, adding that she is the best legislator Anambra state has ever produced. He noted that Ekwunife stands tall amongst public office holders who are impacting positively on the lives of the people especially the downtrodden and widows and encouraged her not to rest on her laurels.
