In a stern address to officers and men of the Zone 2 Command covering Lagos and Ogun States, Assistant Inspector General (AIG) Olatoye A. Durosinmi, B.Sc., LLB, BL, LLM, expressed deep concern over reports of extortion and unprofessional conduct within the command. The lecture, held on 13th February, 2024, at the M.D. Abubakar Conference Hall, Onikan, Lagos, served as a platform for AIG Durosinmi to convey his dissatisfaction and issue a strong warning against such actions.
AIG Durosinmi stressed the imperative of technology-driven policing to combat crime along the highways in Lagos and Ogun States. Acknowledging the unique challenges of the terrain, he emphasized the necessity of collaborative efforts with key stakeholders to ensure public safety.
The senior officer urged the men and women under his command to uphold the values of professionalism and the fear of God while carrying out their duties. He reminded them of the heightened expectations from the public, emphasizing the impact of their actions on their families, relatives, and the community at large.
AIG Durosinmi reiterated his commitment to the fight against crime and called on the public to support the Nigeria Police Force by providing relevant information and assistance. He emphasized the importance of community involvement in ensuring a secure environment and encouraged citizens to report any suspicious activities.
