In a formal ceremony at Zone 2 Command Headquarters in Onikan, Lagos, AIG Olatoye A. Durosinmi took charge on February 6, 2024, succeeding AIG Ari Mohammed Ali. The event marked the culmination of recent postings by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM.
AIG Durosinmi, born on August 19, 1964, hails from Ayetoro in Ogun State. His extensive law enforcement career began in 1990 when he joined the Nigeria Police Force as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Course 16. With a diverse background, he has held positions ranging from Divisional Police Officer (DPO) to roles in State CID and FSWAT units across Lagos, Delta, and Kwara States.
Notably, AIG Durosinmi possesses a robust educational background, holding degrees in Sociology/Anthropology, Law, and a Master of Laws (LLM). Currently pursuing a PhD at Imo State University, his academic pursuits complement his commitment to the force.
The ceremony included an official salute at the sentry podium, followed by a warm reception from the management team led by DCP Martin Nwogoh. AIG Durosinmi’s posting aligns with IGP Egbetokun’s vision for a modern, professional, and rule of law-compliant police force, drawing from the new appointee’s wealth of experience.
As AIG Ari Mohammed Ali assumes duties at Community Policing, Force Headquarters Abuja, AIG Durosinmi steps into his role with a focus on contributing to the continued evolution of law enforcement in Zone 2, comprising Lagos and Ogun States.
