AIG Musa Garba Hails PCRC-Maritime On 41st Anniversary, Pledges Continued Support For Police-Community Partnership

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Maritime Police Command, AIG Musa Yusuf Garba, has applauded the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Maritime Police Command Chapter, for its steadfast commitment to strengthening police-community relations, as the body marked its 41st anniversary.

The anniversary celebration, which held on Thursday, 8th May 2025, at the Maritime Police Command, Force Headquarters Annex, Obalende, Lagos, brought together stakeholders who acknowledged the PCRC’s crucial role in promoting mutual trust and cooperation between the Nigeria Police Force and the public.

In his goodwill message, AIG Musa Garba congratulated the Chairman of the PCRC-Maritime Chapter, Mr. Udoh George, and all members of the committee, commending them for their consistent dedication, patriotism, and support to the Command over the years. He described their contributions as vital to the operational effectiveness of the Maritime Police and the broader goal of national security.

The AIG emphasized the importance of police-community collaboration in building safer environments, particularly within strategic sectors like maritime security. He reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening the existing partnership with the PCRC and assured the committee of the Command’s unwavering support.

According to a statement issued by the Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Adebayo Rasheed, AIG Garba stressed that the Nigeria Police Force, under the leadership of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, remains focused on deepening citizen engagement and enhancing public trust as core principles of effective policing.

The PCRC, as a critical bridge between the Police and the people, was praised for its role in promoting peace, accountability, and grassroots participation in security efforts within the maritime space. The 41st anniversary celebration underscored the enduring relevance of community-based policing in addressing today’s complex security challenges.
