Amunuba Chibuike popularly known as DJ Chi has hailed Disc Jockeys (DJs) across Nigeria, for taking Afro-beat to the world and bringing recognition through constant devotion of spreading good music.
DJ Chi said Afrobeat was big worldwide because DJs had set a great standard in African music to the world.
DJ Chi, who recently released a new song titled ‘More’ featuring star singer, Iyanya, said DJs are playing key roles in the propagation of African music.
“If you have observed the evolution of African Music, you won’t deny that DJs have been a necessary link between music track and its intended audience.
“Being a DJ is beyond mixing and changing songs for people to dance. There are a lot of technicalities, and essential values to showcase your relevance as a DJ to an artist and to the public at large.
“DJs are now topping the music chart with their hit music tracks by featuring music artists and also making albums. We are now headlining shows and concerts.
“DJs are now taking African music to the next level and bringing recognition home from foreign lands, “ he said.
DJ Chi, who is also a record producer, songwriter, label executive said branding was the key.
“Learn to package your craft in an appealing way and also brand yourself as a public figure that you are.
“Self-confidence is one of the important elements that will set you to success. It takes extreme hard work and persistence to elevate, stay focused and keep pushing.
“With the right type of support, Nigerian DJs will continue to dominate the music scene on the continent and add more quality to the steady growth of the industry, “he said.
Dj Chi has teamed up with Iyanya, who is the current wave of the moment with his hit singles “One side” and “Like” featuring Kizz Daniel and Davido.
Dj Chi and Iyanya delivered this new song, titled: “More” that tells a beautiful story of a new found love interest, and obsession with her beauty.
