Afreximbank Joins Sterling One Foundation As Strategic Partner For Africa Social Impact Summit 2024

The Sterling One Foundation has announced African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) as its strategic partner for the upcoming third edition of the Africa Social Impact Summit (ASIS), scheduled to take place from July 25-26, 2024, in Lagos, Nigeria. This collaboration aims to bolster private sector involvement in advancing Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) across Africa.

The summit will focus on mitigating investment risks in Africa, increasing impact investment flows, influencing policy discussions, and fostering partnerships for sustainable growth. Notable sectors include climate action, healthcare, education, youth development, and green financing.

Mrs. Olapeju Ibekwe, CEO of Sterling One Foundation, emphasized the significance of ASIS in convening leaders across sectors to accelerate SDG achievement in Africa. She highlighted Afreximbank’s pivotal role in driving discussions on development finance, leveraging its expertise in promoting intra-African trade.

Mr. Eric Monchu Intong, Regional Chief Operating Officer, Anglophone West Africa at Afreximbank, underscored the strategic alignment of the partnership with Sterling One Foundation and its role in supporting impactful initiatives. He noted Afreximbank’s commitment to advancing Africa’s economic integration under the African Union Agenda 2063.
