ACG Sambo Kaliel Dangaladima Assumes Leadership At NCS Zone ‘C’ As ACG Charles Orbih Moves To Zone ‘A’

The Nigeria Customs Service Zone ‘C’ headquarters in Port Harcourt has officially welcomed ACG Sambo Kaliel Dangaladima as its new Zonal Coordinator. This follows the recent redeployment of ACG Charles Orbih, who has been moved to head Zone ‘A.’

In a brief but significant handing over ceremony held in Port Harcourt on Monday, December 9, 2024, ACG Orbih expressed his satisfaction with the appointment of Dangaladima, praising him as the ideal candidate to lead the zone. Orbih, reflecting on his tenure, highlighted key achievements under his leadership, including the restructuring and repositioning of the workforce for enhanced efficiency and the strengthening of stakeholder engagements. He commended the officers and men of Zone ‘C’ for their unwavering dedication and commitment to duty throughout his tenure.

In his remarks, the newly appointed Zonal Coordinator, ACG Dangaladima, assured the officers and stakeholders of his commitment to building on the successes of his predecessor. He reaffirmed his alignment with the Comptroller General of Customs’ policy priorities, which include consolidation, collaboration, and innovation. Dangaladima urged the personnel of the service to continually strive for excellence in their respective roles while promising a transparent and fair approach to leadership. He also expressed his intention to foster a conducive working environment for all stakeholders in the zone.

“I am deeply grateful to the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi MFR, and his management team for the trust and opportunity to serve in this capacity. I will approach my duties with utmost commitment and humility,” Dangaladima said.

Born on December 31, 1965, in Kebbi State, Dangaladima is a seasoned administrator and intelligence-driven officer with over three decades of service. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and began his career in the Nigeria Customs Service as a Cadet Superintendent of Customs in 1990.

Before assuming his current role, Dangaladima served in several notable positions, including Deputy Comptroller in charge of Intellectual Property Rights at the Customs Headquarters, Comptroller of Customs for Import and Export under the Tariff and Trade Department, and Customs Area Controller for Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos. He has also served as the Customs Area Controller for Kano/Jigawa Area Command and the Comptroller of Administration at Zone ‘B’ Headquarters in Kaduna, among other key roles.

Elevated to the rank of Assistant Comptroller General, Dangaladima was first appointed as the Zonal Coordinator for Zone ‘B’ before his transfer to Zone ‘C’. He has attended numerous strategic and managerial courses, both locally and internationally, and has been recognized with several awards for his meritorious service to the country.

ACG Dangaladima is happily married with children.
