The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) Zone ‘A’ Headquarters in Ikeja, Lagos, has welcomed Assistant Comptroller General (ACG) Charles Osikhena Orbih as its new Zonal Coordinator. ACG Orbih officially took over the reins on Tuesday, December 10, 2024, bringing a wealth of experience and a commitment to advancing the zone’s operations.
In his inaugural address, ACG Orbih outlined his vision to strengthen the zone’s structure by fostering teamwork, innovation, and stakeholder engagement. He emphasized aligning with the policy thrust of Comptroller General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, which centers on consolidation, collaboration, and innovation.
ACG Orbih, a seasoned officer and member of various professional bodies, has undergone extensive training in leadership and management both locally and internationally. His career in Customs spans decades, during which he has served in diverse capacities, including as Customs Area Controller of the Imo/Abia Command, Controller of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport Command, and Zonal Coordinator of Zone ‘C’.
The new Zonal Coordinator’s appointment reflects the Customs Service’s dedication to enhancing efficiency and collaboration within Zone ‘A’, one of its most strategic zones. His leadership is expected to build on existing successes and further drive the Service’s mission to facilitate trade, enforce compliance, and generate revenue for national development.
The ceremony marks the beginning of a new chapter for Zone ‘A’, with stakeholders anticipating a period of consolidation and progress under ACG Orbih’s leadership.
