Access Bank Appoints Olakunle Aderinokun As Head of Media, Public Relations


Access Bank Plc., a leading financial institution in Nigeria and Africa, has announced the appointment of Olakunle Aderinokun as its new Head of Media and Public Relations. This appointment comes as part of the bank’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its communication strategy and enhance its brand presence in the financial industry.

Olakunle Aderinokun will be taking over the reins of the media department, succeeding the late Abdul Kolawole Imoyo, who passed away on December 17th, 2023. Aderinokun, a seasoned Public Relations (PR) professional and art enthusiast, confirmed his appointment via his LinkedIn handle, expressing his enthusiasm for the new role.

In his announcement, Aderinokun stated, “I’m pleased to share that I’ve resumed a new position as Head, Media and Public Relations at Access Corporation.” With his wealth of experience and expertise in journalism and communications, Aderinokun is poised to lead the media department effectively and drive Access Bank’s communication objectives forward.

Prior to joining Access Bank, Aderinokun served as an Editor at Arise News Channel, where he played a pivotal role in shaping and delivering compelling news content to viewers. Known for his attention to detail and creative storytelling skills, Aderinokun has demonstrated a keen understanding of media dynamics, particularly in the areas of business and finance reporting.

Throughout his career, Aderinokun has had the privilege of interviewing top CEOs from various sectors, both locally and internationally, and has represented media organizations at prestigious events such as the IMF-World Bank meetings, African Development Bank (AfDB) meetings, and the Asia-Africa Trade and Investment Conference/Tokyo International Conference on African Development (AATIC/TICAD), among others.

Aderinokun’s professional journey spans diverse roles in the financial and media sectors, including positions at First Marina Trust Ltd, Wall Street Trust Company, United Bank for Africa Plc, and ThisDay Newspaper Group. His academic background includes a B.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Ilorin and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Lagos.

With his appointment, Access Bank aims to leverage Aderinokun’s expertise to enhance its media relations strategy, foster stakeholder engagement, and reinforce its position as a leading player in the financial services industry.
