Describing the movie which is the film version of the book set in Nigeria aims at using the tool of creative media to minimize and even halt the fast-rising cases of child abuse, with an uncommon focus on the Boy child and the premiere.
Every year millions of children are sexually molested, because females are the proverbial weaker vessels, more attention is paid to abuses they face, leaving the boy child neglected.
This mindset has gone a long way in affecting how the boy child sexual molestation is seen and treated as a criminal offence by both the family and the larger society.
The society in which we live put a lot of burden on the boy child, and shouldn’t be vulnerable physically, mentally or emotionally.
According to the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund report in 2015, one in ten boys in Nigeria experience sexual abuse before the age of 18. Among those who molest these children are people they know and or trust, especially family members.
The highly intriguing must-watch movie shot in Awka Anambra state Nigeria stares young talented Artists like Big Man Favour, Dimma Rowlands, Adajesus Iyiegbu, Cyriacus Ozoemena and Blessing Chinenye David.
Based on a novel of same title by Blessing Chinenye David, scripted and directed by Benneth Nwankwo, the story were inspired by her personal experience as a mother and her encounter with a victim of such abuse. The story which portrays the life of a young boy, Michael, neglected by his parents due to their high demanding jobs, leaving him at the mercy of Bianca, his Aunt will premiere at Annabel Cinemas Awka Anambra state on February 14th 2021.
The event will be chaired by the MD/CEO of Anambra Newspapers and Printing Corporation, Sir Chuka Nnabuife; H.R.H. Igwe Godwin Ezeilo of Nanka will be the Royal Father of the Day. Other Special prominent guests expected to grace the events are Nollywood Actors – Kanayo O Kanayo and Bob Manuel Udokwu amongst others.
The event is scheduled to kick off at 2pm with the official public presentation of the book, Abuse of Right at the venue —Annabel Hotel, Off Oby Okoli Avenue, Unizik Junction, Okpuno, Awka.
