The Director General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, NIMASA, Dr Dayo Mobereola, has extended warm Easter felicitations to Christians, urging deep reflection on the enduring ideals of the season and a recommitment to personal and spiritual renewal.
In a statement issued by the agency’s Deputy Director and Head of Public Relations, Osagie Edward, Mobereola described Easter as a defining moment that calls for introspection, moral rebirth and a renewed sense of purpose anchored on faith.
He noted that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ remain powerful symbols of sacrifice, hope and redemption, values he said are critical to both individual growth and national development.
According to him, the significance of Easter goes beyond celebration, stressing that it presents an opportunity for believers to reassess their lives and strengthen their trust in God and in the promise of a better Nigeria.
Mobereola expressed optimism that the lessons of Easter would ignite fresh beginnings and inspire citizens to embrace selflessness in service to humanity and the nation.
He maintained that the virtues exemplified by Christ, including love, compassion, discipline and empathy, must remain central to daily conduct, adding that these principles are essential for fostering unity and national cohesion.
The NIMASA helmsman further linked these values to patriotism, noting that a nation’s progress is rooted in the collective willingness of its citizens to act with integrity and shared responsibility.
He called on Christians to lead by example, demonstrating the spirit of sacrifice and service in their communities, workplaces and across all spheres of national life.
Mobereola also urged Nigerians, irrespective of faith, to embrace the universal message of Easter by promoting peace, tolerance and mutual respect.
He reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to contributing to national development, expressing hope that the season would inspire a safer, more prosperous and united Nigeria.
