In a significant move reflecting its commitment to staff development and sectoral transformation, the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has announced the promotion of 243 personnel across various directorate levels, a development poised to strengthen the Agency’s operational capacity and leadership in Nigeria’s maritime sector.
The promotion exercise, approved by the NIMASA Governing Board, includes the elevation of nine Deputy Directors to full Directors, 30 Assistant Directors to Deputy Directors, and 35 Chief Officers to Assistant Directors, alongside the ratification of promotions for 169 other staff to higher grade levels.
This wave of promotions is one of the most extensive internal elevation exercises in recent years and comes at a time when NIMASA is repositioning for greater efficiency in maritime regulation, safety, and economic development.
