Police Rescue Victim From Lifecamp Building Collapse In Abuja


The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has confirmed the rescue of a man trapped in the rubble of a collapsed three-storey building in the Lifecamp area of Abuja.

According to the Command, the incident occurred at about 6:15 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025. Upon receiving the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Lifecamp Division mobilised a rescue team to the scene, cordoned off the area, and launched a coordinated operation alongside the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), officials of the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) Development Control Department, and personnel from Zeberced and Julius Berger construction companies.

After nearly 10 hours of continuous rescue efforts, the team successfully extricated the victim, identified as 27-year-old **Aliyu Salisu**, a citizen of Niger Republic, at about 4:00 a.m. on Sunday. He was immediately taken to Cedar Crest Hospital, Gudu, where he is receiving medical treatment and is said to be responding well.

The Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, **CP Ajao S. Adewale, psc, mnips**, was on ground to oversee the operation and commended the swift, professional response from all agencies involved.
