Governor Soludo Engages Anambra Diaspora In U.S., Prioritizes Accountability Over Election Rhetoric

As the 2025 Anambra State governorship election draws near, while many political contenders are traversing the state making campaign promises, Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, CFR, is charting a distinct path—one focused on governance, transparency, and engagement over politics as usual.

On Sunday, July 6, Governor Soludo will meet with members of the Anambra Diaspora community in the United States and North America during a town hall meeting in Maryland. Unlike the familiar pre-election campaign tours by politicians, this engagement is part of a broader accountability initiative that has been the hallmark of his administration over the past three years.

The Maryland town hall follows earlier engagements held in Lagos, Abuja, and the United Kingdom/Europe, where Governor Soludo presented his administration’s achievements, addressed citizen concerns, and outlined his vision for the future. His leadership style continues to distinguish him as a statesman with a long-term vision, rather than a politician chasing electoral victory at all costs.

Governor Soludo’s administration has been implementing the “Solution Agenda,” a multi-sectoral strategy anchored on economic transformation, human capital development, infrastructure renewal, and security. In the area of security, his government has reduced crime through strategic interventions like the Agunechemba initiative and technology-driven policing. On infrastructure, there has been massive road construction and urban renewal across communities in the state.

In education, the administration has overhauled the public school system, introduced a free education policy, and recruited thousands of teachers. Healthcare delivery has also seen significant progress, with the construction of new general hospitals, upgrades to existing ones, the recruitment of medical personnel, and the provision of free antenatal care to women. Economically, the state has attracted investments, promoted industrialisation, and empowered youths through various initiatives.

These tangible accomplishments, Governor Soludo believes, speak louder than political slogans. His upcoming engagement with Ndi Anambra in North America is not just a routine interaction but a strategic effort to deepen participatory governance and tap into the wealth of expertise, investment, and philanthropy that the Diaspora community offers.

“Governor Soludo is showing that leadership is about performance, not propaganda,” a source familiar with the tour said. “By reporting back to the people—even those abroad—he reinforces his administration’s commitment to transparency and inclusion.”

The town hall is expected to strengthen collaborations between the state government and its Diaspora citizens, who continue to play a critical role in the development of Anambra State. It also sends a strong message about the importance of accountability and results-driven leadership, even during an election season.

As the political climate intensifies ahead of the polls, Governor Soludo’s decision to focus on governance rather than campaign noise reinforces his belief that measurable impact, not empty promises, is what truly resonates with the people.
