Fidelity Bank Donates Food Packs To 1,500 Flood Victims In Mokwa, Niger State

In a compassionate gesture to support victims of recent flooding in Mokwa, Fidelity Bank Plc has distributed food packs to over 1,500 displaced residents under its flagship humanitarian outreach, the Fidelity Food Bank Initiative.

The initiative, designed to provide relief to vulnerable communities across Nigeria, saw the bank mobilizing efforts through its branches and stakeholder network to deliver vital food supplies to affected families in the area.

Speaking during the donation exercise, Dr. Meksley Nwagboh, Divisional Head, Brand and Communications at Fidelity Bank, reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting communities in distress.

“At Fidelity Bank, corporate responsibility goes beyond financial services — it includes standing with our communities in their most difficult moments. Through the Fidelity Food Bank Initiative, we aim not only to ease hunger but to give hope to those facing uncertainty,” he stated.

“This gesture is not just a relief effort, but a symbol of our collective empathy and urgency to act. We want the people of Mokwa to know they are not alone,” he added.

The food distribution event attracted high-profile government officials from Niger State, including the First Lady, Hajiya Fatima Umaru Bago, and the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Abubakar Usman Gawu. Other dignitaries present were Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Usman Abdullahi Gbatamangi; Deputy Chief of Staff, Alhaji Yusuf Sadiq; Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Alhaji Mustapha Ndajiwo; Commissioner for Education, Hajiya Hannatu Jibril; and Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Hajiya Barrister Mairo Mamman Mann.

The Commissioner for Information, Hajiya Binta Mamman, and ALGON representative in the state, Alhaji Ayuba Usman Katako, also joined in showing solidarity with the flood victims, alongside several local government chairmen.

The Mokwa relief effort adds to Fidelity Bank’s growing portfolio of humanitarian interventions. In recent years, the bank has extended support to fire victims in Taraba State and provided cash and food aid to families affected by the Zaria Central Mosque collapse.
