Operatives of the Rivers State Police Command have successfully apprehended one Promise Dogoh, a 23-year-old native of Kamnor community in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State, who specialized in swapping ATM Cards, belonging to individuals at several ATM points in Rivers State and subsequently stealing money from their accounts.

DSP Grace Iringe Koko, the state Police Command’s Spokesperson said in a statement that the suspect ran out of luck when on 22/04/22 at ATM gallery in Artillery, he successfully swapped the ATM card of a victim and withdrew the sum of N640,000, leaving the victim with nothing in his account.

“The frustrated victim reported the matter to Operatives of the State Command who promptly swung into action and arrested the culprit. He is currently helping the Police in the investigation and shall soon appear in court.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Eboka Friday, admonishes the good people of Rivers State to be wary of strangers at ATM galleries and desist from seeking assistance from them. They should rather approach staffers of the banks who can easily be identified should anything go wrong.” she said
