NIMASA has intensified its campaign against stowaways by taking public awareness to grassroots communities. At Snake Island, Lagos, the Agency engaged community leaders, youths, and residents on the dangers and consequences of stowing away on vessels.

According to a press statement issued by Osagie Edward, FNIPR, Deputy Director and Head of Public Relations, Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA). Residents commended NIMASA for the enlightenment campaign, describing it as timely and impactful.

Leading the Agency’s team, Head of ISPS, Mr. Mudi Isa, emphasized that stowaway incidents damage Nigeria’s reputation in the global maritime community and reaffirmed NIMASA’s commitment to preventive awareness through community engagement.
