WhatsApp Scam Storm Deepens As Fraudsters Clone Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede

A fresh wave of digital fraud has emerged, with scammers now exploiting the identity of Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, Chairman of Access Holdings Plc, to lure unsuspecting victims into bogus investment schemes.

The fraudulent operation, which has begun circulating widely on WhatsApp, involves the creation of a deceptive group styled “Value Focus Club 60,” designed to appear legitimate and credible to potential targets.

Investigations revealed that the perpetrators are using the phone number +234 915 708 8290, alongside the image of the respected banking executive, in a calculated attempt to gain trust and mislead participants.

Industry sources have firmly clarified that Aig-Imoukhuede is not involved in any WhatsApp-based investment platform, nor does he operate or endorse any such group under any guise.

Further checks also confirmed that Access Holdings Plc does not provide investment advisory services via WhatsApp or any informal messaging channels, making any such claims entirely false and fraudulent.

The scheme was reportedly uncovered by a vigilant whistleblower who raised the alarm after identifying inconsistencies in the group’s operations and messaging patterns.

Analysts warn that the sophistication of such scams continues to evolve, with fraudsters increasingly adopting identities of high-profile individuals to give their operations a veneer of authenticity.

Members of the public have therefore been strongly advised to refrain from joining the group or engaging with any individuals linked to the fraudulent scheme, regardless of how convincing the presentation may appear.

Security experts also urge individuals not to disclose personal, financial, or banking information to unknown contacts, and to promptly block and report suspicious numbers on WhatsApp.

Meanwhile, Access Holdings Plc is said to be taking steps to dismantle the fraudulent network, even as stakeholders emphasise that heightened public awareness remains the most effective defence against falling victim to such schemes.
