“As Lawmaker Flags Off Road Construction In Umuawulu, Awka South LGA”
The former Anambra state gubernatorial candidate under the platform of New Nigeria Peoples Party, HE Prince Leonard Uchendu has stated that the re-election of the Senator representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, Uche Ekwunife, PhD, is a foregone conclusion, adding that she is a pace-setter in the business of lawmaking.
Speaking on Thursday, December 9, 2021, during the flag-off ceremony of the construction of Amuru Onyenego/Umuawulu Microfinance Road, Umuawulu, Awka South LGA, Uchendu extolled Ekwunife’s legislative strides on the floor of the senate, saying that all the communities in the zone and beyond have benefited from her mandate. He noted that the vast majority of constituents want Ekwunife to return to the Senate.
Stating the reasons the quintessential lawmaker should be re-elected, Uchendu explained that the intimidating achievements of Ekwunife put her above her contemporaries. He described the federal lawmaker as Madam Project.
Welcoming the Senator, the traditional ruler of Umuawulu community, HRM Igwe Dr. Joel M. Egwuonwu, expressed satisfaction over the commencement of the road, stressing that it is a welcome development to the community. He advised the Senator to remain proactive and not rest on her laurels.
Speaking further, the Monarch prayed that Ekwunife would continue to be uplifted politically by God.
While appreciating the Chairman Senate Committee on Science, Technology and Innovation, the President of Enugwu Quarter, Elder Arthur Unakeje noted that even though he was not a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, that he would mobilize support for Ekwunife to ensure she returns to the National Assembly.
“I have been seeing your good works, you are an upright and straightforward lawmaker. I will champion your re-election campaign in the coming months”, he assured.
Earlier, Ekwunife thanked the community for their warm reception and special love towards her, stressing that the number of youths, women and party faithful that gathered to witness the flag-off ceremony is overwhelming. She noted that she was committed to providing adequate infrastructure to the people of Anambra state.
The Senator who was represented by a delegation of her project team led by Anambra state former Commissioner for Women Affairs, Lady Henrietta Agbata promised that she would not relent in giving the best representation by attracting more projects to the zone.
